Thinking from the ground up

Soil quality is the fundamental basis of all our work.

Here in Alt Madlitz, Brandenburg, we have the worst possible foundation for farming due to extremely low rainfalls and very sandy, low nutrient soil.

Nevertheless we believe that even in our climate, adopting adaptable land use models is the key to solving many of the most pressing problems – from climate change and biodiversity, as well as social issues

This is why here in Alt madlitz, on our 3,000 hectares we are working on a variety of multifunctional farming methods to build healthy and resilient ecosystems: from holistic pasture management to composting, syntropic agroforestry, forest conversion, the development of new software and technology.

Farm Dinner 26. August

A long table, under the open sky, in the middle of a field. We are very happy to invite you to Madlitz – for a summer dinner at the end of August with our friends from Restaurant Ember!

We will be grilling on an open fire with the best ingredients from our farm & the most beautiful vegetables from our neighbors Ackerpulco. Served up as a late summer 3 course meal. On the horizon the sunset & the wide pasture. It will be beautiful.
